Western Region
The western region encompasses more than 500 known climbing areas and contains some of the most recognizable and popular climbing destinations in the world including: Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Red Rock Canyon, Smith Rock, Mount Rainier, and Denali. Most of the climbing in this region occurs on public land managed by one of the four major federal agencies: the U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, or US Fish and Wildlife.
