Eastern Mountain Sports Raises $15,000 For the Access Fund

Access Fund Corporate Partner Eastern Mountain Sports raised $15,000 for the Access Fund during the retailer’s Upgrade Your Gear Sale held October 18-21.

Eastern Mountain Sports split 1% of total sales revenue from the event equally between the Access Fund and the Conservation Alliance. All of the Eastern Mountain Sports’ 68 stores participated in the promotion, raising a total of $30,000. This is the second contribution of this size that Eastern Mountain Sports has made to the Access Fund and the Conservation Alliance in 2007.

Eastern Mountain Sports has been an Access Fund partner since 1993 and has always been committed to keeping climbing areas open and conserving the climbing environment.

Brady Robinson, Executive Director of the Access Fund, comments, “Eastern Mountain Sports was founded by climbers and has been one of our biggest corporate partners. They understand firsthand the important role the Access Fund plays on the local and national levels. This generous contribution will help the Access Fund assure that our climbing resources around the country are protected for us and future generations.”

“It’s important to partner with an organization like the Access Fund that diligently works to preserve climbing areas our customers love to call home,” says Will Manzer, Eastern Mountain Sports CEO and President. “Eastern Mountain Sports was built 40 years ago on a strong climbing heritage, and we are happy that our contributions continue to support these outdoor playgrounds.”

On behalf of climbers across the country, the Access Fund would like to thank Eastern Mountain Sports for their significant contribution and for engaging their customers in the importance of taking care of the places they play.
