Join the Mid Atlantic Climbers for a day of trail work, vegetation trimming, graffiti removal, trash pickup, and possibly invasive species removal if a specialist is available. All tools and materials will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own work gloves if they have them. Wear long pants and sturdy shoes.
Registration is required! Register at https://www.midatlanticclimbers.org/portfolio/northwest-branch-adopt-a-crag-october-28-2023.
If using GPS, the parking area is located at Burnt Mills East Special Park (10701 Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, MD 20901). We will be meeting at the trailhead in the far corner of the lot.
For all Adopt a Crag events, please keep the following in mind:
Wear closed toed shoes. Long sleeves and pants are recommended.
Bring water, snacks, and extra layers for the elements.
Be prepared to be challenged, work hard, and gain karma points!
Work includes lifting and carrying up to 50-100 pounds, walking on unstable terrain, and being exposed to the elements (sun, rain, heat, cold, everything in between and beyond.) We are able to accommodate a wide range of abilities and experience levels - please contact us if you have any questions or concerns about your participation.
Although we'll be outside, if you are feeling ill or have had any recent exposure to Covid please reconsider and stay home to rest up!
