Project Description: We will continue a multi-year trail effort to build sustainable trails and enhance access for individuals using hand cycles at Thumb Open Space. Our project this year focuses on the approach to the Thumb and Needle. Work will include finding, moving, and placing large rocks for climbing turns, retaining walls, and check steps. For more information about the project, see below!
For all Adopt a Crag events, please keep in mind the following:
Wear closed toed shoes. Long sleeves and pants are recommended.
Bring water, snacks, and extra layers for the elements.
Be prepared to be challenged, work hard, and gain karma points!
Work includes lifting and carrying up to 50-100 pounds, walking on unstable terrain, and being exposed to the elements (sun, rain, heat, cold, everything in between and beyond.) We are able to accommodate a wide range of abilities and experience levels - please contact us if you have any questions or concerns about your participation.
Although we'll be outside, if you are feeling ill or have had any recent exposure to Covid please reconsider and stay home to rest up!
All volunteers must complete the Access Fund waiver prior to volunteering.
