Join the Conservation Team for any or every day of Work Week in the Creek! This year we will construct a sustainable trail up to the Way Rambo Wall
Each day will follow the same basic schedule: Meet at the Superbowl Campground at 9 a.m. for a morning stretch and safety circle. Then we’ll break out into teams, carpool over to Way Rambo Wall for project work, and wrap up around 3 p.m. You can also meet us at the Way Rambo Wall but please note that the road is rough and parking is limited. Feel free to bring your climbing gear to send some post-project pitches!
Camping:
Free camping is available for all volunteers at the Superbowl Campground. Space is limited - please register in advance.
If the group site fills up, there are individual campsites in Creek Pasture, Super Bowl, or dispersed camping throughout the area. All volunteers are still welcome to join for coffee in the morning or Saturday Happy Hour.
Other info about visiting and recreating in Indian Creek:
Indian Creek is a remote destination - be sure to plan ahead and prepare! Guidebooks, Mountain Project, and the Friends of Indian Creek can provide more information about the site.
Bring enough water and food for the duration of your stay. There is no running water available in Indian Creek. You can fill water jugs at the Exxon gas station in Monticello or Gear Heads in Moab.
The nearest town is Monticello, Utah, which is about 45 minutes from the worksite and camping area. Moab is roughly 1 hour away. In both locations you can find grocery stores, restaurants, lodging, Urgent Care, and a public library. Moab also has various gear stores as well as options for showers (the rec center is a crowd favorite!)
There is no cell phone service shortly after leaving hwy 191. Be sure to download maps, directions, and any pertinent information prior to leaving town.
Indian Creek is in a desert landscape. Be prepared for hot, sunny days and cold, windy nights.
For all Adopt a Crag events, please remember:
Wear closed toed shoes. Long sleeves and pants are recommended.
Bring water, snacks, and extra layers for the elements.
Be prepared to be challenged, work hard, and gain karma points!
Work includes lifting and carrying up to 50-100 pounds, walking on unstable steep terrain, and being exposed to the elements (sun, rain, heat, cold, everything in between and beyond.) No prior experience is necessary. Our team can often accommodate most ability levels on projects - please reach out if you have any concerns.
Although we'll be outside, if you are feeling ill or have had any recent exposure to Covid please reconsider and stay home to rest up!
