I have to say, I’m continually amazed by how many changes the climbing world has seen since I first tied in back around 1993. The exponential rise of climbing gyms, the growth and visibility of cornerstone brands, and the surge of innovative newcomers have reshaped the scene. Every day, more new climbers head outside for the first time, and it’s no surprise that land managers and stakeholders have growing concerns. After all, climbing has transformed from an underground pursuit to a full-fledged Olympic sport in just a couple of fast-moving decades.
