Trimble brings experience in nonprofit management, outdoor education, and expedition logistics
Access Fund, the national advocacy organization that leads and inspires the climbing community toward sustainable access and conservation of the climbing environment, is pleased to welcome Dory Trimble of Salt Lake City, Utah to its board of directors. Trimble is an enthusiastic climber, backpacker, and mountain biker, as well as a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer. She is the founder of Trimble Advisors, which provides organizational design and philanthropic advisory services to families and individuals, and to nonprofit and social good initiatives preparing to scale. She is also the former executive director of the Honnold Foundation.
“Becoming a member of the Access Fund was one of the first things I did when I got into climbing—I signed up for a membership at my local gym, bought some used climbing shoes, and slapped my Access Fund sticker on my water bottle,” says Trimble. “Since then, as my relationship to climbing has evolved, I've watched the Access Fund evolve, too.”
Trimble’s addition to the Access Fund board of directors comes as the organization works to rally America’s 8 million climbers in the work to protect and conserve the land, fight for sustainable access, and build a community of climbing advocates. As threats to the climbing landscape escalate, climbers must be willing to tackle big challenges in order to protect the outdoor climbing experience and the lands the community holds dear.
“It's an honor to join the Access Fund board at this stage in its evolution,” Trimble adds. “I look forward to supporting the organization’s efforts to preserve sustainable access and advocate for our climbing communities nationwide.”
The Access Fund Board of Directors establishes organizational policy and ensures that the organization's mission and vision are fulfilled. The board is composed of volunteers and honorary members who are committed to protecting America's climbing areas. To learn more about Access Fund’s board of directors, visit accessfund.org/board.
