Technical Glitch Disrupts Access Fund Donations at Tail End of Public Lands Fundraising Campaign
Last week, Access Fund launched a critical campaign to raise funds for the fight for America’s public lands, with REI matching all donations up to $60,000 through Friday June 9th at 11:59pm MST. At approximately 8:15pm MST on Friday June 9th, the third party software that hosts Access Fund’s join, renew, and donate forms stopped capturing gift information, but did not give donors any indication that the gift was not received.
“We’d like to assure the community that we did not experience any kind of data breach,” says Brady Robinson, Access Fund Executive Director. “The connection between the website forms and the back-end database and payment processor simply broke, so no donation data was captured.”
The forms have been fixed and are back online, functioning properly. However, if you made a gift between Friday June 9th at 8:15pm MST through Monday June 12th at 7pm MST when the forms were taken offline, Access Fund was unable to receive your gift. If you did not receive an e-mail confirmation of your gift, it did not go through.
If you have any question about the status of a gift you made during the time period above, please call 303-545-6772 or e-mail [email protected] and Access Fund staff will confirm if your gift was received.
“There are times when we’re simply at the mercy of technology. And technology fails on occasion,” says Robinson. “We thank the community for their patience and understanding.”
