We’re excited to introduce our 2025 Conservation Teams—seven expert trailbuilders and conservation specialists who are on a mission to restore climbing areas across the country. These crews will work with local communities on technical climbing area infrastructure at some of our most beloved crags and boulderfields.

Loryn Posladek

Loryn has joined our team as Access Fund's Field Coordinator, managing our Conservation Team and Climber Stewards. After spending 5 years on the road, working in 84 climbing areas in 27 states, Loryn has been a steadfast, passionate, wildly intelligent, force of freakin' nature for climbing area stewardship! Loryn brings a wealth of knowledge from her time working in the Conservation Corps and on the road, and we are so lucky to keep her around!

Jeff Luton:

Crew Leader

Jeff returns to the Conservation Team as our Crew Leader. Jeff brings a deep knowledge of technical stewardship work and a passion for life on the road and climbing. He's also a great mechanic, so if you break down in the Creek, chances are he'll help you get back up and running in exchange for a volunteer day on the trail.

Julian Friedman:

Spring Crew Member

Julian hails from Southern California, where he got his first taste of climbing at Taquitz and Joshua Tree. He's already made his mark on trails in Indian Creek from volunteering during Work Week in the Creek, and is sure to bring his stoke to the crew.

James Horne:

Spring Crew Member

James comes to us from Florida, but his passion for climbing and volunteering has led him to travel all over the country. He brings a breadth of experience in climbing area stewardship from volunteering for Adopt-a-Crags in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Utah. He just loves that sandstone climbing!

Adam Cummings : Spring Crew Member

As an avid climber and conservationist from the North East, Adam is excited to use his experience working for the Appalachian Mountain Club at Rumney, New Hampshire on the Conservation Team. Catch him on the trail telling riddles and slinging rocks.

Josie Gonzales:

Summer Crew Member

Josie’s big personality shines through when she talks about her passion for stewardship and rock climbing. Inspired by childhood hikes with her dad in Wisconsin, Josie is bringing that passion and energy to the Conservation Team. She loves manual labor and can’t wait to throw rocks into the ground at your local climbing area this summer.

Janfel Bacho:

Summer Crew Member

Janfel has a Texas-sized heart—the state he comes from. He’s a dedicated conservationist and rock climber who brings a wealth of professional trails experience and dirt-bagging know-how. He’s a boulderer who loves to travel and when he’s off you’ll most likely catch him in Hueco Tanks.
